Duckling Day!

Yesterday was Duckling Day!  I packed the kids into the car, invited my mom along for the trip and headed down to Fanny Bay to a great little hatchery called Holiday Hill.  (You can check them out at www.guppy.ca/ )

No road trip would be complete without a bout of upset tummy from my boy S.  So we sat in the Tim Horton's parking lot while he held a bag in his lap for a bit.  It wasn't until the prospect of not getting a breakfast sandwich, due to said upset tummy was realized, that the upset tummy miraculously disappeared.

A couple wrong turns later(never take my mom's advice on directions especially since I'd been to the hatchery before) and we arrived at Holiday Hill.  $25 later I had my five khaki campbell ducklings and the kids each handed over their $5 for a khaki campbell cross.

The kids got to hold day old turkey chicks(they're nearly as ugly as babies as they are as grown birds) then we had a little tour of the farm.  S hid behind me at the turkey pen whispering loudly to his sister, "don't look the turkeys in the eye!  It makes them mad!"

Home again with our box of babies.  These little fuzzy butts currently reside in the bathroom as I have this terrible habit of buying critters before I have a space alloted for them.  Good thing my other bad habits are few ;)

Happy Sunday!!
